I caved.

What can i say? i think its in my blood. I havent yet touched my camera…but, did some post-processing on some old images. Its a kind of stress buster for me, better than watching TV….most programs suck anyways.

So, one thing i have realized (after spending in excess of $1000) is that my Powershot G3 is a great camera! i wonder why i got that DSLR?

Here is why:

1. The pictures i took from G3 are great! often rivaling the D70s out-of-the-box pictures.

2. It supports RAW mode

3. No need to buy extra expensive lens, accessories etc, and is still flexible. In a sort of a way.

What do i have in my camera bag?

I often get asked by my friends as to what i carry with me when i go out to shoot pictures? I have this tiny hip bag from Think Tank. Its tiny, ergonomic and carries most of my travel stuff. It currently fits my D70s with 18-70mm attached to it, a spare 50mm lens, a SB 600 flash & a few accessories.

The accessories is where i possibly differ from most others. I carry a few hyperfocal charts custom made or my kit lens (you can get yours for free, here.), A voice recorder that i have found handier than using pen and paper to remember locations, general comments on the scene on how i saw it so that i can compare it to how the picture turns out, Pen and Paper – you may never know when you might need it, A flashlight – needed for early morning shots when you venture out into the state parks when there is still not enough light.
