Happy New Year!
Not sure how many if any, see my blog. If there is anybody out there, Happy new year!

Stop complaining..
I have often seen in various forums and heard from my amateur photographer friends that they would like a single travel zoom lens for all purpose – the holy grail at the moment being the Nikon AFS VR 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 lens.
While this is an excellent lens, consider me old-styled. I choose to go with an SLR, not for its features or functionality, but for the option to change lenses (interchangeable lenses). Many of the features and capabilities (at least most of them) are available these days in modern advanced P&S cameras as well (For example, Canon Powershot S series, G series etc).

I have been busy at home lately – family troubles. That has stopped me from shooting any pictures since the past 2 weeks. This however, hasnt stopped me from reading about it. I have been reading a lot lately – and pretty good books too. If you havent read it yet, go ahead and do yourself a favor – buy the book called “Photography and the Art of seeing, by Freeman Patterson”. You will not regret it. This is one of the few books that has the capability to take you to the next level.
Ofcourse, it is the season to buy and splurge – so i have a few new purchases as well – my new 35mm f2.0 is incredible and stays on the camera a whole lot these days. I hope to have lots of fun with this.
If you have been using the strap that comes with your camera, here is my 2 cents of advice – “ditch it” . You have no idea how bad it is – both for your own health’s sake (neck pain etc) as well as comfort wise. Do yourself a favor and buy an Op/TECH strap (The company is not endorsing me to say this…). This *IS* the best strap out there…and makes your camera feel as light as a point & shoot…with a big lens! this is an incredible piece of thing ever…just trust me on this.
