Today’s NY Times features a phographer and artist – Neil Winokur. His latest exhibits is about a 26 images of everyday things – one photograph for each letter of the english alphabet.
The fascinating thing about his style (influenced by Pop Art) is that the technique is a no brainer- its the idea that counts, not technique - a rather shocking revelation (at least to me!); Anybody with a modern DSLR could have easily done this – but, let me ask this – how many do you think would have thought of doing it? there is a certain degree of professionalism here too – its the not just the theme, its the backgrounds – every photograph has a different, bright yet matching (same or complimentary color) background.
On a similar note, i came across a post from my favourite blog for a photographer Bill Sullivan. He has a few very interesting ideas as well – he explains his inspiration and methods here.
Here is another idea - Now why the heck didnt i think of this? This to me is “Art”.
