I agree. The subject is kinda cryptic. I recently shot several images on my D300 in 14 bit RAW. Now, these are “night shots”. See examples below:
The fact is that – these images look very very nice on my iMac monitor. I can very clearly see details in shadows, there are like very gradual non-black variations near the bow and in shadows that simply is not visible at all in the above image. Probably because i use Prophoto RGB color space during editing, and the image link above takes you to a sRGB version. Read more
