ACR calibration for Lightroom – Part 3

Since this is the most popular topic on my blog (I get the most hits on this subject) – I have decided to add a new entry instead of updating my old entries with my latest finding.

Here are the results of my repeating my ACR calibration with the new script (See references). You can use these in either Photoshop or Lightroom.

Save them either as a preset or use the “Defaults” command to save automatically apply them when you import images (See my earlier posts for references on how to do this).

Backups!

We all know how critical it is to backup “stuff”. Here is how i do it:

Our obsession with “Manual” options….

I was recently listening to a podcast in which the person spoke about using “Manual” exposure for almost everything.

This reminded me about my first car – it had a stick shift.

Back in the day, that was the only kind you got anyways. I initially struggled with it – eventually getting good at it. Now a days i drive a car that has Auto gears and an option called Triptonic (It is a fancy word for “Manual”).

So far, i have used it once. To try to see if it works. And it does – quite well actually. Its kinda “Intelligent” manual. It you are in 1st Gear, and are going too fast, the “Auto” mode kicks in and changes the gear to what it should be.
