Well, technically speaking – this post is not about Photography. This is a post on the making of this blog. I believe there are several photographers out there – who might benefit from knowing how i created this website.
For starters, this website is hosted by Eleven2 (which I highly recommend for their professional and prompt service and excellent features). The blog (including the homepage) uses Wordpress (Which I highly recommend as well). The site uses a template called Vertigo – originally created by Brian Gardner, who currently owns StudioPress. I have modified the theme (now no longer available) for my own site. In fact, since this was originally distributed under GPL license, I am more than happy to share my wordpress template (send me an email).
Let me back up a little bit here. The above procedure makes absolutely no sense for a non-technical photographer. Which is why – i recommend using a hosted blog site such as squarespace. I first heard about this company last year – from the folks at Lightsource, and they have recently created a platform for hosting blogs – which looks very much like Wordpress actually. They even have themes! The best thing of all is that you dont have to worry about upgrading your software, worrying about downtime or backups of your content — they do it all.
