Equipment sale

The refresh cycle for digital cameras these days typically run for about 2 years. Naturally, there is this constant urge to keep upgrading equipment to keep current with the trends. However, that is not the case all the time (I still shoot Film alongside of Digital).

Based on my personal experience (looking back and studying my own trends) – I recently realized that my learning growth has been in spurts. I had stopped pursuing Photography seriously (I still had P&S and shot family, candids,  etc.) for 2 years between 2000 and 2002, and when i got back in – My learning grew leaps and bounds. Could just be that the Information available on the Interwebs and trends had started growing tremendously as well.Anyhow, I have decided to give Photography a rest for a few months. I am not retiring from Photography – just refraining from shooting new pictures. I will still continue to be active on the Interwebs & continue to process images and look at images and absorb trends. Just not shooting new pictures. Hope i make sense here – but we all do this consciously or not – Not everyone has a camera with them all the time. Hopefully, I will learn to see better when the camera is not around the next time i go scouting.

Here is a list of my equipment – Feel free to drop me a line if you are interested.

  1. Nikon D300 camera: Original owner, and brought new from Calumet in Dec 2007. I can leave the settings as-is or do a factory reset to reset out all settings.
    • Includes original Box, manuals, Strap, body cap, LCD cap, and everything else that came with the original camera (with receipt & warranty).
    • The image (found at the bottom of this post) shows Markins tripod mount – however, this is not included in the cost.
    • Has very low mileage (7400 shutter clicks) and in excellent condition. No nicks/scratches etc.
    • Lots of extras included for free (or very minimal cost):
    • Katz eye split screen (http://www.katzeyeoptics.com/item–Nikon-D300-Focusing-Screen–prod_D300.html). The screen has square crop lines! Regular grid lines can be turned on/off from within camera controls.  Viewscreen has no optibright treatment. I will include original view screen as well. I have noticed that this viewscreen is way better than the original – much easier to focus using manual lenses & great for Macro work.
    • Wired remote cord – You can remotely trigger your D300 with this included remote control cord. It offers basic shutter click control.
  2. The very exclusive and the best lens Nikon ever made – Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR lens. The Lens is in excellent condition. I will include everything it came with including the receipt, lens caps, lens hood, warranty (valid until 2010) & the original lens bag (and the box – minus the UPC label). The lens has an upgraded Kirk Lens collar and tripod mount – much much better than the flimsy one that it comes with. In fact, this is the only lens that actually appreciated in value since i brought it. The images for this lens are below as well.
  3. One of the best portraits that money can buy – The Nikon 85 f1.4 AF lens. There simply are no words to describe this lens. Known for its excellent bokeh and rendition of portraits. The lens is in excellent condition.
  4. Canon G3 – Infrared camera. This camera was converted to Infrared by LifePixel. Includes 2GB CF Card. it includes a lot of extras – including the closeup filters (see image below) & lens adapter. I will also include original filter (before IR conversion) as well.
  5. Misc. Items:
    1. Lensbaby 2.0 lens (includes box and aperture kit):
    2. Sima SF soft focus lens. An excellent lens that produces soft images. Reminiscient of images from 70s.
    3. Singh Ray Vari-ND filter. 77mm. Excellent condition. Will include original box, recipt and everything that it came with.
  6. Bags:
    1. Think tank Modulus system – Includes several bags and Pro speed belt (medium size). Includes Lenschanger 25, Lens changer 50, Whip it out, Trim changer, Lightning Fast & R U Thirsty.
    2. Think tank Speed Demon
    3. Mekko F2 – a domke clone with a quality that rivals it.
    4. Naneu Pro Tango – Carries tons of stuff including a 17″ laptop. Great for travel – and looks like a regular laptop bag.

Updated: 28Apr 2009: I have removed the pricetag from the items – they were inconsistent with current trends.  Also – I have removed those items that have already been sold.
